The polarity is the direction of transcription of a V-GENE relative to a J-C-CLUSTER or D-J-C-CLUSTER in a same locus. There are two exclusive instances of 'polarity':
A V-GENE with a same polarity as that of the J-C-CLUSTER or D-J-C-CLUSTER rearranges by a deletional joining.
A V-GENE with an opposite polarity to that of the J-C-CLUSTER or D-J-C-CLUSTER rearranges by an inversional joining.
