(1) Note that this CH1 domain is not expressed in the camel IGH gamma 2 chain. Indeed, owing to a splicing defect of the CH1 (non canonical DONOR-SPLICE) the V-D-J-REGION is spliced to the hinge exon (H), which leads to the absence of the CH1 domain in the camel IGH gamma 2 chain. The conserved Cys 104 of the CH1 (IMGT numbering for C-DOMAIN) is replaced by Ser.
