QUESTION 1:

How many TRD genes in the human genome?
Where are they localized?

ANSWER to question 1:

The total number of the human TRD genes per haploid genome is 16 (including the 5TRAV/DV genes):
    * the 16 genes are localized in human TRD locus on chromosome 14 at 14q11.2
    * the TRD locus is embedded in the TRA locus between
the TRAV and the TRAJ genes (the total number of human TRA and TRD genes is 127)
    * one TRDV and 5 TRAV/DV genes are interspersed among the TRAV genes
    * there is no known TRD orphon.
