(a) Um gene IGKV é unido a um dos 5 genes IGKJ. (b) O conjunto IGKV-J-C é transcrito em um RNA mensageiro. (c) As seqüências de RNA correspondentes aos íntrons e aos genes IGKJ supérfluos são então excisados por processamento e as seqüências codificadoras reunidas de maneira a produzir um RNA mensageiro maduro. (d) O RNA mensageiro é em seguida traduzido em uma cadeia polipeptídica. (e) O peptídeo sinal é eliminado após penetração da cadeia polipeptídica na cavidade do retículo.
