(a) Um dos genes IGHD é unido a um dos 6 genes IGHJ funcionais e depois um gene IGHV por um rearranjo com o conjunto D-J para formar o conjunto V-D-J. (b) O conjunto V-D-J-Cm é transcrito em um RNA pré- mensageiro. (c) As seqüências de RNA correspondente aos íntrons e aos genes J supérfluos são então excisadas por processamento e as seqüências codificadoras reunidas de maneira a produzir um RNA mensageiro maduro. (d) O RNA mensageiro é em seguida traduzido em uma cadeia polipeptídica. (e) O peptídeo sinal é eliminado após penetração da cadeia polipeptídica na cavidade do retículo.
