@

@ "arrobas" (typographic character) used in the HGNC (HUGO Nomenclature Committee) database for 'gene cluster in chromosomal region'.

20 IG and TR entries have the arrobas "@" in the HGNC symbol. These entries were created in HGNC, Entrez Gene and/or OMIM to avoid a loss of information and to collect data entered in these databases, prior to the entry of the individual genes. The HGNC symbols are used for links between IMGT® and the genome databases but they are not exhaustive. Indeed, they correspond to:

HGNC
symbol
IMGT
name
the 3 IMGT IG loci IGH@ IGH locus
IGK@ IGK locus
IGL@ IGL locus
the 4 IMGT TR loci TRA@ TRA locus
TRB@ TRB locus
TRG@ TRG locus
TRD@ TRD locus
4 (of 12) IMGT IG chromosomal orphon sets IGHVOR15@ IGHV/OR15
IGHVOR16@ IGHV/OR16
IGHDOR15@ IGHD/OR15
IGKVOR2@ IGKV/OR2
the IMGT TR chromosomal orphon set TRBVOR9@ TRBV/OR9
8 (of 10) IMGT IG groups IGHV@ IGHV group
IGHD@ IGHD group
IGHJ@ IGHJ group
IGKV@ IGKV group
IGKJ@ IGKJ group
IGLV@ IGLV group
IGLJ@ IGLJ group
IGLC@ IGLC group
none of the 14 IMGT TR groups

The IMGT 'group' concept comprises genes of the major loci and of the chromosomal orphon sets, whereas the HGNC IG group symbols only refer to genes of the major loci.
