Labels
A label is a term used to describe any part of an object or a process.
IMGT standardized labels are used to describe all structural and functional
subregions that compose IG, TR, MHC and RPI sequences, 2D and 3D structures.
The IMGT labels are written in capital letters.
Each label corresponds to a concept of the key DESCRIPTION concept of
IMGT-ONTOLOGY.

IMGT/LIGM-DB standardized labels
are used to describe all structural and functional subregions that compose
IG and TR sequences. The organizational relationship between the
IMGT/LIGM-DB standardized labels and the
information on the order and the expected length (in number of nucleotides)
of the labels are represented in Prototypes.

IMGT/PROTEIN-DB
and IMGT/3Dstructure-DB labels
are used to describe the 2D or 3D structure organization of IG, TR and MHC
receptors and chains into domains.
