Germline gene table: Llama (Lama glama) IGHV

"+" or "-" indicates if the gene sequences have been found (+) or not been found (-) rearranged (R), transcribed (T), and/or translated into protein (Pr). Arbitrarily that information is shown on the first line of each gene when the data have been confirmed by several studies.

Click on an accession number to get the sequence and additional information (IMGT annotations, IMGT flat file, Coding regions...).

The identified Llama (Lama glama) IGHV genes belong to a single subgroup IGHV1. This subgroup corresponds to the human IGHV3 subgroup (1).

IMGT notes:
(1) The Llama (Lama glama) IGHV1 genes belong, as those of the Arabian camel (Camelus dromedarius) IGHV1 genes, to two sets based on amino acid sequences and, probably on the presence or lack of light chain in the antibodies. The functional IGHV1S6 gene and the IGHV1S7 and IGHV1S8 pseudogenes belong to the first set. The functional IGHV1S1 to IGHV1S5 genes belong to the second set.
Four FR2-IMGT positions (42, 49, 50 and 52 in the IMGT unique numbering) show amino acid differences characteristic of each set:

(2) In frame STOP-CODON (positions 127-129) at codon 43 in FR2-IMGT.
(3) In frame STOP-CODON (positions 307-309) at codon 103 in FR3-IMGT.
