The mouse IGH locus is located on the chromosome 12 at band 12F2.

Mouse chromosomes are organized according to their size as for the human chromosomes, however all of the chromosomes are acrocentric (having the centromere close to one end and thus no p-arm). There are 19 pairs of autosomes, plus X and Y sex chromosomes.
The orientation of the mouse IGH locus on the chromosome is reverse (REV).

A vertical red line indicates the localization of the IGH locus at 12F2.

A blue arrow indicates the orientation 5' → 3' of the locus, and the gene group order in the locus. The blue arrow is proportional to the size of the locus, indicated in kilobases (kb). The total number of genes in the locus is shown between parentheses.
