Chromosomal localization: human (Homo sapiens) IGL locus

The mouse IGL locus is located on the chromosome 16 at band 16A3.

Mouse chromosomes are organized according to their size as for the human chromosomes, however all of the chromosomes are acrocentric (having the centromere close to one end and thus no p-arm). There are 19 pairs of autosomes, plus X and Y sex chromosomes.
The orientation of the mouse IGL locus on the chromosome is reverse (REV).

A vertical red line indicates the localization of the IGL locus at 16A3.

A blue arrow indicates the orientation 5' → 3' of the locus, and the gene group order in the locus. The blue arrow is proportional to the size of the locus, indicated in kilobases (kb). The total number of genes in the locus is shown between parentheses.
