ROG is a member of the POZ family. A majority of the POZ members contain a BTB (broad complex, tramtrack, and bric-à-brac) domain in the N-terminus, and a zinc finger domain in the C-terminus. The BTB domain is a protein-protein interaction domain.
The expression of ROG is induced rapidly in T cells by stimulation via the TcR.
ROG represses the function of GATA-3 in part by preventing the binding of GATA-3 to its DNA target sequence.
