The T cell receptor constant domains

  1. Receptors in IMGT/3Dstructure-DB

    Identify in IMGT/3Dstructure-DB

    • a human TR-ALPHA_BETA
    • a murine TR-ALPHA_BETA
    • a human TR-GAMMA_DELTA
    • a murine TR-GAMMA_DELTA

There is a slight difference in the designations of the receptors in IMGT/3Dstructure-DB. Can you explain it?

  2. Strand lengths

Indicate in a table the strand lengths for the C-ALPHA, C-BETA, C-GAMMA and C-DELTA domains.

Are there differences between mouse and human?

  3. IMGT unique numbering

Why can we say, taking as examples the C-ALPHA and C-DELTA domains, that in the IMGT unique numbering, the "position" is predominant on the "nature" of the amino acid that occupies that position?

To help you answering that question:

    • check, in IMGT/3Dstructure-DB, the IMGT Colliers de Perles on 2 layers of the C-ALPHA, C-BETA, C-GAMMA and C-DELTA domains
    • compare their hydrogen bonds
    • compare the position of the expected conserved amino acids (23, 41, 89, 104).

    What do you observe?
