The dog (Canis lupus familiaris) IGH locus consists of 89 IGHV genes belonging to 4 IGHV subgroups, 6 IGHD genes belonging to 6 IGHD sets, 6 IGHJ genes belonging to 6 IGHJ sets, and 8 IGHC genes [1-5].
The IGHV genes span 1245 kilobases (kb), the IGHD genes span 35 kilobases (kb), the IGHJ genes span 3 kilobases (kb) and the IGHC genes span 141 kilobases (kb).
