Rhesus monkey (Macaca mulatta) IGH locus

The Rhesus monkey (Macaca mulatta) IGH locus is on chromosome 7. The orientation of the locus is reverse (REV).
The Rhesus monkey (Macaca mulatta) IGH locus spans 1969 kilobases (kb), from 1 kb upstream the most 5' gene in the locus, IGHV(II)-202 (P), to 8 kb upstream of the most 3' gene in the locus, IGHA (F). The Locus representation encompasses 2000 kb.
The Rhesus monkey (Macaca mulatta) IGH locus consists of 288 genes : 208 (+ 20 non localized) IGHV genes belonging to 8 subgroups and 3 clans, 45 IGHD genes belonging to 7 sets, 7 IGHJ genes belonging to 6 sets and 8 IGHC genes [1-7].
The IGHV genes span 1600 kb, the IGHD genes span 103 kb, the IGHJ genes span 6 kb and the IGHC genes span 260 kb.
