The Chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes) TRB locus is on chromosome 6. The orientation of the locus is forward (FWD).
The Chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes) TRB locus spans 577 kilobases (kb), from 10 kb upstream the most 5' gene in the locus, TRBV1 (P), to 10 kb upstream of the most 3' gene in the locus, TRBV30 (F). The Locus representation encompasses 600 kb including the 5' borne MOXD2 and the 3' borne EPHB6.
The Chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes) TRB locus consists of 83 genes : 65 TRBV genes belonging to 33 subgroups, 2 TRBD genes belonging to 2 sets, 14 TRBJ genes belonging to 2 sets and 2 TRBC genes .
The TRBV genes span 518 kb, the TRBD genes span 40 kb, the TRBJ genes span 7 kb and the TRBC genes span 12 kb.

The TRBV genes are localized in 2 V-CLUSTER:
- the 5' V-CLUSTER, classically in 5' of the TRBD, TRBJ and TRBC, includes 64 TRBV genes belonging to 32 subgroups (42-44 genes are functional, 8 genes are ORF and 12-14 genes are pseudogenes).
- the 3' V-CLUSTER, downstream of the TRBC in inverted orientation, includes 1 TRBV gene (functional).
The TRBD, TRBJ and TRBC genes are localized in two D-J-C-CLUSTER between the 5' V-CLUSTER and the 3' V-CLUSTER:
- the first D-J-C-CLUSTER, in 3' of the 5' V-CLUSTER, includes 1 TRBD gene (functional), 6 TRBJ genes (4 functional, 1 ORF and 1 pseudogene) and 1 TRBC gene (functional). The most C-proximal TRBJ gene, TRBJ1-6, being localized at 2.642 kilobases in 5' of TRBC1.
- the second D-J-C-CLUSTER, in 5' of the 3' V-CLUSTER, includes 1 TRBD gene (functional), 8 TRBJ genes (7 genes are functional and 1 gene is pseudogene) and 1 TRBC gene (functional). The most C-proximal TRBJ gene, TRBJ2-7, being localized at 3.523 kilobases in 5' of TRBC2.

MOXD2 (5' borne) has been identified 60 kb upstream of TRBV1, the most 5' gene in the locus.
EPHB6 (3' borne) has been identified 40 kb downstream of TRBV30, the most 3' gene in the locus.
