Partner
A partner identifies an amino acid (or corresponding cDNA) sequence functionally associated to another different amino acid (or corresponding cDNA) sequence to form a receptor.
By extension, the amino acid (or corresponding cDNA) sequence of each variable domain of a single chain Fragment variable (scFv) is also an instance of the 'partner' concept.
The 'partner' concept is part of the 'IDENTIFICATION' concept of IMGT-ONTOLOGY [1]
